Since 1991, Fast Forward Language Institute has been devoted to providing high quality and personalized instruction in Portuguese for foreigners.

All of our teachers are native speakers, university graduates and trained in Fast Forward’s direct approach to language teaching. We work with our own teaching methods, aimed at students’ total cultural immersion.

In Brazil, Fast Forward currently has locations in São Paulo and Maceió, each offering a unique and captivating experience in the cultural reality of the Portuguese language today.

Language lessons at Fast Forward focus on communication; beyond grammar books and written exercises, our professors include a variety of oral and listening elements with up-to-date technology to stimulate a comprehensive understanding of the Portuguese language.

Students are encouraged to interact with their classmates, their professors and the entire staff here at Fast Forward. Our professors also dedicate their creativity and time to the organization of various activities during the students' free time and weekends.

Enthusiastic and experienced host families also contribute greatly to the students' well being during their stay.

" I had a great time in Maceió. It was a wonderful experience that I'll never forget. The school is great as well as the professors and the other personal. Even though I stayed in Maceió for two weeks, I think that I learned a lot in terms of language and culture. Now I'm taking Portuguese at the university and I'm not having any problem at all with the class because of what I learned at Fast Forward. Now I'm in love with Portuguese and I can't stop learning it. I have made a lot of Brazilians friends here where I live and I'm able to speak to them in Portuguese and also they are helping me to improve it. Obrigada! :-)"

"To date I have attended the school four times, once in Maceio, and three times in Sao Paulo.
The fact that I have returned three times speaks for itself, and I am already looking forward to the next visit!
The best part of the experience is the quality of the teachers both in terms of their ability to teach the Portuguese language at all levels, and also their patience and interest in each individual student regardless of whether it is a private or group class.
The staff also go the extra mile outside of classes with the arrangement of social events and assistance with other matters such as travel or, once in my case, a medical emergency.
All in all, good value for the money and highly recommended."

“These last four weeks I did a course at the Fast Forward school in Maceió, Brazil, and it was great. I can recommend the school to everybody. They are not cheap, ok, but they sure offer good quality. The teachers are great, well qualified, enthusiastic, and apart from the grammar and texts, they keep the classes interesting with video material, music etc. The people of the school are very friendly and always there to help you with anything. The guest families are nice and close to the school.
I had a great time, met lots of great people and my Portuguese improved a lot (I hope to maintain this level.. gotta work on it!). I will miss the walks along the beach, the chats in the garden of the school and the whole general atmosphere. It felt like a family..
If you think of going, don't hesitate. FF rocks!"
