General Information
Our goal is make you speak Spanish in the shortest
possible time and in order to improve/practice your Spanish we offer you amusing and practical programs such
as: tours, guided visits, painting, papier-machè, exchange conversation
(Spanish-English,) sports and more!!
Our teachers and staff have many years of experience
teaching Spanish to foreigners who come from
all
over the globe!!
Our program is open to adults, teenagers, children and college freshmen,
sophomores, juniors, seniors and undergraduate and graduate
students in all majors. No previous knowledge of Spanish is required.
Ninety percent of our language teachers speak English as a second language.
Goals and Objectives
CICU Spanish School seeks to instill in its students
an understanding of the grammatical aspects of the Spanish language, an
appreciation for the Mexican culture as well as develop a world view about their relationship to the wider
global community.
More specifically, CICU wishes to achieve the following:
• Functional
grammar usage.
• Increased knowledge of vocabulary (escalating according to skill level).
• An environment which allows students to be comfortable with the
language, in both speaking
and listening.
• Development of problem solving strategies, increasing independence
between student and teacher.
• A heightened level of cultural awareness and acceptance of ideas and
opinions different from
their own - encouraging them in building sympathy, empathy, and
compassion for others
both in the target language community as well as a wider world community
.
Students will learn and be evaluated through the use of:

• Daily grammatical and vocabulary exercises
• Class discussions about past and current issues of their countries and
culture
• Frequent to constant use of the Spanish language by teacher and by
"living lab" which is available across hometays.
• Formal
quizzes, tests, and other assessments
• Project grades
• Increasing level of student involvement (or lack there of).
